Description

The Monitoring and Diagnostic System developed by VULKAN has been designed to detect unallowable permissible loads due to torsional vibrations in several different drive systems.

Depending on the monitoring equipment selected, data can be analysed in real time or off line. Furthermore, it is also possible to evaluate vibratory loads in parts of the system, which are not directly measured, enabling analysis of individual components and system behaviour. In this way the user has the capability of obtaining detailed information for analysis and diagnosis of the drive system’s torsional vibration behaviour. With the interfaces available at the device it is possible the integrate the VULKAN MDS into the existing control- and monitoring system.

Continuous monitoring of the drive-line detects changes in the system’s behaviour which are not normally detected by standard alarm systems. By use of the VULKAN Monitoring and Diagnostic Systems, you get:

  • actual and early information of normal or abnormal operation and load profiles of the propulsion system
  • increasing TBO of the monitored system
  • longer inspection intervals
  • preventative maintenance

VULKAN offers MDS as a modular system that can be adjusted to the various customer requirements.
